How to Rub with Seasonings

There are Three distinct ways to rub Seasonings onto your chosen food item.

Dry Rub

With Dry rubbing you are applying the seasoning directly onto the meat and utilising the meats or vegetables own moisture to allow the seasoning to stick.

Dry Rubbed Method

Pat your selected protein or vegetable dry with some kitchen paper sprinkle over with selected Seasoning and massage into the item, repeating until completely covered. allow to sit for 10 to 15 minutes before cooking.

Wet Rub

With the Wet Rub method we apply some oil so as to allow the seasoning to create a marinade style coating

Wet Rubbed Method

Drizzle oil over your selected protein or vegetable followed by sprinkling with selected Seasoning and massage into the item, repeating until completely covered. With this method you can cook straight away or allow to sit for 10 to 15 minutes before cooking.

Marinade

This is where your desired protein or vegetable is dry or wet rubbed then added to an additional liquid, such as stock or wine or both! with vegetables and allowed to marinate over night to increase the flavour. We will cover more on marinades in later Posts.
